
Carmen Mathis - Actor/Director

Carmen Mathis is an actor, director (theater) and playwright. Her acting career spans over 30 years with performances on stage, film and television. She can be seen in Season 1 of "Orange is the New Black" (Ep. 9) on Netflix.
Her solo performance play, 30 YEARS IN THE LIFE OF CLEOPATRA JACKSON (1998) and the magic, mystical play, THE OLDIES DANCE (2001) were both produced by Theater for the New City. She is currently adapting her play, THREE BIDDIES AND A SPRITE (2009) into a futuristic fantasy film.
Since 2011, Carmen is the Executive Producer and Host of “The Carmen Mathis Show,” a variety show which presents talented singers, actors, dancers, comedians, poets and musicians.
The Carmen Mathis Show airs every other Friday at 8:00 PM on Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN) on www.mnn.org -- Lifestyle Channel 2, Time Warner Cable Channel 56, RCN Channel 83 and Verizon FiOS Channel 34.
